Ayurveda

Ayurveda focus on the preventive as well as healing therapies at the physical, mental and spiritual levels of a human being. It makes use of the different purification and rejuvenation methodologies. Ayurveda is a system to extend the length of life in an appropriate manner maintaining the health and balance of physique, mind and soul. There are different methodologies in Ayurveda like Panchakarma therapy for cleansing the body toxins.

Panchakarma is the five type therapeutic measures to purify the body. This treatment adds to the juvenility, espirit and well being of the body. The five therapeutic treatments in Panchakarma include removal of Doshas or toxins from the body or the detoxification procedure, Basti, the medicated enema, Virechana, the purgation through herbs to remove excessive bile, Nasya , the nasal treatment with oils to remove the excess humors accumulated in nose, and Vamana, the herbal emesis to get rid off excess mucus. This treatment includes various herbal treatments, massages, steam and oil treatments.

A preparatory step before purification is done in 2 steps like Snehana and Swedana. In Snehana, oil massage is done. This helps detoxification through gastro intestinal tract. It softens the skin and tissues as well as nourishes the nervous system. Swedana is a herbal steaming to get rid of the toxins. The art of Ayurveda is based on three humors or Doshas- Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The internal system is controlled by these tridoshas. These doshas arises because of the life style and eating habits of people. So an ayurvedic treatment based on an appropriate life style can help the patients to get rid of the toxins or Ama that got accumulated as a result of the variations in the three doshas.
